For decades, the Sutter Huskies have been one of the top teams in Nor Cal—especially in the area. I would know; I played against them when I was in high school and almost played for them my senior season.
This season is no different as they toppled the Gridley Bulldogs 62-0 last Friday night. The Huskies now improve to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in BVL play.
The score was 48-0 going into the half.
Sutter QB Trent Little passed for 129 yards and a touchdown to Brad Bonnenfant and Mat Sanders. Sanders also rushed for 49 yards on two carries with another score. Nathan Ahlers scored two TDs on the ground. Jared Miller, Forrest Smith, and Cody Lee all had scores for the Huskies. Colton Minton also recorded a score as he picked up a fumble and took it to the house.
This is the fourth shutout this season for the Bulldogs. They have had 301 points scored against them, while only putting 26 points on the board this season.
The Bulldogs fall to 0-7 overall this season, and they are 0-3 in BVL play. This week, they’ll be back on the road to play the Las Plumas Thunderbirds.
Las Plumas is coming off a 52-12 loss to Orland last week. They are currently 2-5 overall, and they are 2-2 in the BVL with wins over Winters and Oroville.
