  • TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) is a group of 45 specially trained volunteers who provide emotional and practical support to victims of traumatic events and their families in the first few hours following a tragedy. TIP volunteers are called to a crisis scene or to the hospital by police officers, firefighters, ambulance medics or hospital personnel. TIP is a nonprofit organization and all services are provided at no cost. In the past 18 years, TIP has responded to over 7,500 calls.
As a TIP volunteer for the past 3 years I am scheduled to be on call for three 12 hour shifts per month to respond in 20 minutes to 911 emergency scenes to provide emotional and practical support to those traumatized by the incident. Types of calls TIP respond to are death, medical emergency, attempted or completed suicides, assaults, rape, domestic violence, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, drowning, structure and wild fires, auto accidents, and disoriented or troubled citizens. I would like to ask you to join us and many other emergency responders to this great Tri-Tip dinner on October 27,  in support of TIP, "Citizens helping citizens in crisis". Please see flyer attached for additional information.  If you have any questions please feel free to call the number on the flyer or I can be reached via e-mail or by calling 530/844-6272.
