A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 for Rosemarie Gillispie, 83, of Biggs, California. She passed away Saturday, September 20, 2012 at Gridley HealthCare and Wellness Center, Gridley, California.
She was born September 19, 1929, in San Francisco, California. Rosie had attended Walnut Creek Elementary, Oakland High School and San Francisco State. She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on September 15, 1952. She met and married Lewis Gillispie on June 28, 1954. They then moved to Biggs, California where they raised their family of five children. Rosie loved gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with her children. She enjoyed vacationing by the ocean and visiting lighthouses along the Oregon and California coastline.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Gillispie in 2003, her parents Hayden Neal and Anita Carlile, her grandfather and grandmother, Lewis and Bartley Frembling and her brother Leroy Carlile.
She is survived by three sons Richard Gillispie, of Orland, California, Donald and April Gillispie, of Oroville, California, Doug and Rebekah Gillispie, of Biggs, California; two daughters, Mary Gillispie, of Gridley, California and Bonnie Pyeatt, of Gridley, California; six grandchildren: Raymond Lovins, Kim Hay, Brian Lovins, Tommy O'Hara, John Pyeatt II, and Madeline Sierra; 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. At the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 140 Idaho Street, Gridley, California.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern California, Chico, California. Scattering of her ashes will be at sea off the coast of Marin County in the San Francisco Bay.
