A Funeral Service and Interment will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at Skyview Memorial Lawn, located in Vallejo, California for Gladys Mae Wilson, 95, of Gridley, California. She went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2012, at her home. A Celebration of life service will also be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. At First Baptist Church, 100 Vermont Street, Gridley, California.
Gladys was born on December 11, 1916, in Quinton, Oklahoma to James and Laura Gregory. She married her husband, George C. Wilson, on October 13, 1934. They came to California during the 40's so her husband could work in the shipyards. She was a homemaker most of her life. She also worked for 20 years for American Rubber, in Emeryville, California making fire hose. She and George retired in 1977 and moved to Gridley. She loved her Lord, her family and her garden. She was a very active member of Broadway Baptist Church, San Pablo, California and First Baptist Church, Gridley, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband George C. in 1978, her son C.C. in 2003 and her grandson Michael Potter in 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Potter, of Pinole, California; daughter and son-in-law, Bob and Wanda Moitoza, of Kapaau, Hawaii; son and daughter-in-law, George and Roberta Wilson, of Gridley, California; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen Gregory, of Tracy, California and Carrie Allison, of Georgetown, Texas; and one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and DeeDee Thompson, of Turlock, California.
Pastor Rick Cunningham of First Baptist Church, Gridley will officiate at the Services.
