In sports, all winning streaks must come to an end. The Lions had started their season 4-0 and looked really strong. However, all that strength was not enough to overcome the Winters Warriors on Friday, September 21 in Winters as the Lions lost their first game of the season in a devastating 37-30 overtime loss.
The Lions may have lost, but their offense still had an impressive performance. QB Romario Acosta threw 2 touchdowns to Jose Medina and Taylor Raymond. Taylor Raymond also rushed for a touchdown, as did Cody Herbert, to give the Lions four touchdowns on the night.
Even though the Lions scored multiple times, Romario Acosta threw three interceptions on the night, giving Winters a chance to beat Live Oak. They took advantage and won in OT.
With the win, Winters improves to 3-1 while the Lions drop to 4-1. The Lions get a bye this week, and then they return home to play Willows.
