A Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012, at 10 a.m., at the Gridley Biggs Cemetery, for Myrle L. Moody, 88 of Gridley. Myrle passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at her home in Gridley.
She was born October 27, 1923, in Quitman, Arkansas to Columbus and Viccie Lester.
Myrle was a long time resident of Gridley, having worked in the cannery for many years. She enjoyed gardening flowers and cooking. She was a very loving and caring person. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Gridley Lodge No 1185, and Pink Ladies Auxiliary at the Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital.
Myrle was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry Moody Sr. two sisters Donna Shelgren, and Violet Addison.
She is survived by her three sons: Ken Moody, of Gridley, Larry Moody, of Sioux City Iowa, Henry Moody Jr., of Oroville; and one daughter, Peggy Newlin, of Port Angeles Washington. Eight grandchildren, numerous great-children and great-great-children.
Pastor Rick Howeth of The Father’s House, in Live Oak will officiate the service.
Family suggests donations be made to the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley Block Funeral Chapel.
