  • We at Farmer’s Market would like to give a huge THANK YOU to the Gridley Police and Recreation Departments for joining us last Tuesday evening for National Night Out. The Bike Rodeo, and other activities were enjoyed by many, thanks to Police Sergeant Rodney Harr, and Recreation Director Malanee Montero. Thank you also to Amy from Animal Control, Cal-Fire for bringing their Fire Trucks, and Grace Lutheran Church for the use of their parking lot.
There are only three more Tuesday evenings to attend Farmer’s Market this season. We have EBT available. Our Farmer’s have been bringing fresh from the vine produce, the vendors are offering a variety of merchandise. El Tambarazo (Home to the Gridley Farmer’s Market) is open for refreshing drinks and great meals.  “Got Stuffed Bar BQ” provided by Chris and family are becoming well known in our community for their food choices, and of course Janyo frozen yogurt and Jax Kettlekorn are additional treats. Marty Martin will be providing entertainment each evening until Market ends August 28. Please remember this event is a family friendly evening to enjoy entertainment, socialize and encourage everyone to have a healthier life style.
The annual meeting of the BID is September 6, 5:30 PM at the Recreation Building in Vierra Park. This will be a potluck, drinks and paper goods will be provided. Be sure to mark your calendars, this meeting is only once a year, and gives you the opportunity to find out what the BID has done throughout the past year and to hear what all of your expectations are from us this coming year. We will also be extending an invitation for new Board Members. The Community Garden at the south end of Washington street is nearing completion. We will be showing and talking about it at this meeting. To read the rest of this story, please pick up a 8/22/12 edition of The gridley Herald.
