A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 25 at 11 a.m., on campus at Butte College Memorial Garden for Donna who entered eternal sleep July 31, 2012 at her home in Paradise of natural causes. A family interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetary in Orland. Donna was 64 years young.
Donna was born October 9, 1947, in Chico, California to Dess W. and Rose E. Tibbitts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Dona May Tibbitts.
Donna is survived by her brother, Dess N. Tibbitts, of Paradise. She also leaves nieces and nephews: Cheryn R. Tibbitts, D. Joshua Tibbitts, Hannah (Jesse) Edwards, Leah N. Garcia, and Nicholas M. Garcia; great-nieces Alyssa Rose and Dona Maylee; many cousins both local and abroad. In addition, many dear friends that Donna loved as family.
Donna lived her entire life in Glenn and Butte counties. Raised in Orland she attended and graduated from local schools. After moving to Gridley, worked for the Gridley Herald newspaper for many years before beginning her employ at Butte College. Where Donna worked for 20 plus years before retiring last year stating how much she would miss her students.
Donna enjoyed life and loved her family and friends. Always ready to begin a new adventure, she loved traveling, lunch with friends, old movies, and hosting family gatherings for the holidays. One of her greatest enjoyments in life though, were her pets. Donna had an unmatched love, concern, and caring for all creatures great and small; and will be missed by those who can read this and those who cannot, but loved by all.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the, 'Donna M. Tibbitts Memorial Scholarship' at Butte College. Or to the Butte/Glenn Humane Society.
