  • The best five days of summer are quickly approaching, August 1 – 5th, as the annual Yuba-Sutter Fair has something for everyone in the family. This year’s fair is chock full of fun including:  kids activities, bull riding, Freestyle FMX motorcycle jumping, cars crashes, dirty trucks, live music, regional and local vendors, new and vintage cars, arts and crafts, cooking demonstrations, scholarship competition, floral and horticulture exhibits, fine arts and photography, clowns and so much more.
     
    The 154th Yuba-Sutter Fair kicks off on Wednesday, August 1st with gates opening at 4:30 pm and FREE admission from 4:30 pm – 6:00pm on Wednesday.   The main exhibit hall will feature hundreds of goods from local and regional vendors, a classic Chevrolet Impala display and two great sweepstakes contests.  Fairgoers can go to the Corner Bike Shop booth to register to win a $650 Giant Talon 2 bike and $100 gift card.  Also, the Yuba Sutter Mall will be handing out entries to win a $1,000 shopping spree.  All entries must be submitted to guest services at Yuba Sutter Mall to be valid for entry.
    Other great events and Fair specials include:
    Wednesday, August 1st the Miss Teen & Miss Yuba-Sutter competition starts at 5:30pm on the Pepsi Stage.  Live music gets started at 6:30pm and continues until the Fair closes at 11pm.  Hypnotist Don Barnhardt, Comedian Spike McGuire, the Puppet Theater and Circus Imagination appear daily.
    Thursday, August 2 is “$1 day from 4:30pm – 6pm at the Yuba-Sutter Fair” with $1 admission into the Fair and $1 per carnival ride.   The Mini-Miss Competition starts at 7pm on the Pepsi stage.  Live music performances from Audioboxx at 6:30, 8:30 and 10pm and a Doobie Brothers tribute band at 10pm.  
    Gates open Friday, August 3rd at 1pm.  Friday is Sutter County Children & Families Commission Kids’ Day, where all children under the age of 11 get in free.  Also, Friday is Seniors Day with free entry for all fairgoers 65+.   Back by popular demand is Cotton Rosser’s “PBR to the Extreme” starting at 7:30 pm in the arena; entry is free with Fair admission.   This year’s PBR includes motorcycle jumping and the crowd favorite Mutton Busin.  Again, live music throughout the day includes music from local favorite Kaylee Star and the Chris Gardner Band and regional talent Synergy, Chad Bushnell.  
    Military Day is Saturday, August 4th and admission is free for Military personnel with current Military ID card (1 admission per card).  The Livestock Auction starts at 8:30 a.m. in the livestock arena and the fun continues with the TNT Tuff Truck and Mud Bogs competition starting at 6:30 pm.   Great local talent includes Jacquee’s Dance Expressions at 4:30 pm on the Geweke Stage and the Glad Tidings band will appear on the Pepsi Stage at 5pm.   Live music from local artist Amanda Gray and Whiskey Savage and the crowd pleasing Spazmatics round out the evening’s entertainment.
    Page 2 of 2 - Sunday, August 5th the fair wraps up with La Familia Day music starting at 2pm and the TNT Destruction Derby  at 6:30pm.  Don’t forget to come out and watch the hay-bucking contest at 1pm in the Livestock Pavilion.
    All this great entertainment is packed into five days starting August 1 – 5th at the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds.   Fair  hours are  Wed & Thurs. - 4:30pm-11:00pm, Fri, Sat, Sun, 1pm-Midnight
