A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 10 a.m., at the Butte County Fairgrounds, in Gridley, for Geoffrey “Geoff” Kauffman, 59, of Gridley. Geoff passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012, at his residence in Gridley following a long illness.
He was born on December 10, 1952, in Chico California to Gene and Nedra Kauffman. He grew up in Yuba City, having attended local schools and graduating from Yuba City High School Class of 1971. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war, stationed State side. Geoff was a long time resident of Gridley, he enjoyed hunting fishing and working on his lumber tree farm. He worked for many years for Sutter North Medical Foundation. Geoff was a member of Yuba City Friends of the Library and was a past board member of Middle Mountain Foundation.
Geoff is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lori Kauffman, of Gridley, two sons: Michael Kauffman, of Chico and David Kauffman, of Gridley; parents Gene and Nedra Kauffman, of Yuba City; one sister Cynthia Wunsch, of Madreas, Oregon; and one brother Mitchell Kauffman, of Hillsboro, Oregon.
Pastor Jim Anderson ,of Corner Stone of Evangical Free Church in Yuba City will officiate the service.
The family suggests contributions to Sutter Rehab Institute in Roseville, Sutter Hospice in Yuba City, or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Inurnment will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
