If you missed the second installment of Nor-Cal Combats Mixed Martial Arts show at the Butte County Fairgrounds in April, held inside of Jake's Pavilion (formerly Goldies), you missed quite a show, but luckily the third round of fights is returning on Saturday, June 23 to the fairgrounds once again. The 11 fight amateur MMA card will bring back several local fighters looking to make their way in the MMA scene, and will bring the crowd to their feet with the non-stop and hard-hitting action.
Headlining the event will be Oroville's Tyler Diamond against Red Bluff's Ashton Pierce. In the second main event Raymond Zuniga of Yuba City will battle JR Hinkle of Oroville. The winners of these matches will receive title shots at the Nor-Cal Combat event scheduled for the Butte County Fair in August.
Local fighters scheduled to appear on the card include Deniko Sisk at 155 lbs., Johnny Terry at 125 lb., Joe Ruggerillo at 135 lb., and Thomas Graham at 170 lb. Fighters will be representing teams from throughout the north state including Team Byrne, Team Intense, Team Fury, Team Quest, Pureheart, Sabotage and Golden State.
Tickets are on sale now at the Butte County Fair grounds box office for $35. Get your tickets early, because the last card was a complete sell out, and word of mouth about the April event will undoubtably bring many fans from around the north-state to watch the great action in a super locale inside the Thunder-dome of Jakes.
