Nor-Cal Combat will be making its second appearance at the Butte County Fairgrounds tomorrow night with a 12 bout card beginning at 6 p.m. The event is being put on the by Orsua and Byrne Fight Promotions showcases amateur fighters from around Northern California, and according to Butte County Fair CEO Sean Earley the tickets are selling well.
“We are going to have a sell out I am sure,” said Earley. “It is hard to get a clear number of tickets sold already, and there will be tickets on sale Saturday night, but people will want to get in line early to make sure they get a seat.”
Headlining the card will be a Nor-Cal welterweight championship fight between Chico's Danny Negri vs. Sacramento's Armando Sabala. According to promoter Brannan Byrne, there is little love lost between the two fighters, and it should make for a great main event.
“Armando thinks he is the best, and should be champion, and Danny and Armando have a history.”
Also being featured on the card will be several local fighters including Gridley's Dakota Sisk, who if he is able to beat his opponent Sean Nelson will move into the number one contender position and will square off against the winner of the Sabala-Negri bout in June at the next Gridley event.
