As Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital continues to add new services and update equipment, the latest change is the addition of the Welch Allyn Monitoring System.

New cardiac monitors have been placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Room Department (ER). Staff members of these areas are excited to have two new hardwire monitors for each department, along with 4 telemetry units that will enable nurses especially to monitor heart rhythms of patients. Doctors and nurses can carry any of the four hand held units as they make rounds checking on patients at the same time they are monitoring another patient.  The monitors can be used in med/surg also. The new system makes it possible for the nursing staff to be able to walk from department to department and have the ability to watch up to 12 patient’s heart rhythms at one time.
