As you may know already, disaster struck in Haiti.  A lethal earthquake killed thousands of people and hurt millions. People are homeless.  That is why Wilson Elementary School Student Council is sponsoring Hearts 4 Haiti, a fundraiser for the destroyed area.  The student council is challenging each student to bring in $1.  Even a penny will help.  One penny can buy a tablet to purify a gallon of water.

Each classroom has a jar their own Hearts 4 Haiti container to hold the money they bring.  We hope each jar will be filled more than once.  You may send the change you would like to donate to school with your child, or drop by the office and add to the jar on the counter.  All donations will go directly to the American Red Cross.

Our first day of collections was Monday, January 25th and will go for two weeks.  Our first day of collections totaled more than $800!  Now you have heard the say in what Wilson’s been doing today.
