Ken Speer, Assistant General Manager of Generation Services for the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA), was invited to Gridley last Tuesday, January 19, by Gridley's Energy Commissioner, Owen Stiles, for a study session with Gridley City Council and Planning Commission members to discuss the Lodi Energy Center project.

Ken Speer, Assistant General Manager of Generation Services for the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA), was invited to Gridley last Tuesday, January 19, by Gridley's Energy Commissioner, Owen Stiles, for a study session with Gridley City Council and Planning Commission members to discuss the Lodi Energy Center project.


Speer reported that the project, that started as a 255 megawatt (mw) project, is now a larger project at 280 mw net for less money. The plant will ofer 6,824 Btu/kWh with an 80 percent expected capacity factor. The expected energy cost is $67 per mw according to Speer.
