A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Gridley for Sharon Zunino, 67 of Gridley, California.  Sharon slipped away peacefully on November 22, 2009 at her residence with loving family and dear friends at her side.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Gridley for Sharon Zunino, 67 of Gridley, California.  Sharon slipped away peacefully on November 22, 2009 at her residence with loving family and dear friends at her side.

Sharon was born June 12, 1942 in Yuba City, California.  She attended school there until her senior year when she then graduated her final year of high school at Gridley High School.   Sharon attended UC Davis and then followed up with attendance and graduation from SFSU. 

Sharon was recognized for her love and devotion to her children, family and friends.  Her generous contributions to her community was respected and honored by many.  For those who knew her, they were captivated by her sense of humor and her sincere laughter. 

She gave unselfishly her time and talents to many organizations: Bluebirds, Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Quota; her dedication to the Butte County Fairgrounds over many years; she held leadership roles in Eastern Star and a Charter Member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program with the GBPD, and earned the honorary title as “Woman of the Year” in 2005. 

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Zunino and her mother and father, Gladys & Edward Davis.

Those who shared her life were her children: Krista Zunino (Angelo Spagnoli) of San Francisco, CA and Robert Zunino Jr. (Bobbi) of Gridley, CA; and 3 grandchildren.

Father John Harris of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Gridley will officiate at the services.

Interment will be held at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.

Contributions to the American Cancer Society, 414 G Street, Suite 104, Marysville, CA  95901 are suggested by the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
