Always a huge event and well supported by many, the scholarships are presented to high school students from Gridley, Biggs and Live Oak.

Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased by calling Helen Bennett at 846-4534, Larry Earley at 530-990-3600 or from any Knights of Columbus members. They are also available at The Wishing Corner.

Richard Bennett was not only a  committed member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, he devoted his time to children in the community, especially those in the local 4-H groups.

He and his wife Helen, were awarded the McCaughn award in 2001, from the Gridley Area Chamber of Commerce for their dedication to area children.
