The Horizon Air Summer Series once again showed its competitive balance with first time winners in all three divisions.  In the four years of the Summer Series no club has repeated as champion.  This year the Seattle Studs captured the McCullough Division, the So Cal Fire won the Engelken Division and the Sacramento Scorch took the Bavasi Division.

Individual honors were split between three non- division winning clubs.

Fairbanks’s AIA Fire outfielder Brint Hardy from the University Alabama, Birmingham was awarded the Player of the Year Award.  Hardy batted .421 with four home runs and 24 RBI’s.

Last years McCullough Division champion Humboldt Crabs pitcher Reed Brown captured the 2008 HASS Pitcher of the Year.  The senior from Oregon State went 5-2 with a 1.13 ERA for the Crabs.

McCullough Division runner up Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox Manager, Jack Johnson, was selected Manager of the Year.  The clubs second year manager guided the club to a 30-10 Series record and 35-11 overall.
